Primary

Primary cells are non-rechargeable. While they cannot be recharged, they usually offer a long shelf life and can be counted on being ready to go at a moment's notice. We offer both alkaline cells and non-rechargeable lithium coin cells. When replacing an existing coin or button cell you need to bear in mind the different voltages of these two type of cells. Alkaline cells have 1.5 volts and Lithium cells have 3.0 volts. Alkaline cells are usually called button cells while Lithium cells are usually called coin cells. Alkaline button cells are usually identified by a manufacturer part number and several part numbers may be satisfied by a single size cell. Each cell's product page will give the most common alternative part numbers. The CR series of Lithium cells are specified not by a part number but by their size. The first two digits are the diameter in millimeters and the second two digits are the height in tenths of millimeters. For example, a CR2032 cell has a 20 mm diameter and a 3.2 mm height. More information on button and coin cells can be found in this Wikipedia article.
